ENCORD- Nitrile latex is a random co-polymer of
acrylonitrile and butadiene monomer dispersed in aqueous medium.
Polymerization Structure of acrylonitrile & butadiene co-polymer
Commercially this product is available in three different grades:
- Encord 301 High Acrylonitrile Content (39 %)
- Encord 302 Medium Acrylonitrile Content (33 %)
- Encord 303 Low Acrylonitrile Content (24%)
High acrylonitrile content of co-polymer latex imparts excellent chemical,
oil solvent resistance to the polymer. Random co-polymer of butadiene and
acrylonitrile helps in exhibiting very good mechanical properties like
tensile strength, high modulus etc. Key attributes of Encord NBR latex is
the radomization of acrylonitrile, butadiene in aqueous emulsion, easily and
evenly flocculated by salts or specific agents used in beater addition
process having an excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, oils and
plasticisers with better heat and temperature resistance. It is basically
used in Gaskets in cellulosic paper and fibres, in various adhesives and
primers, lining pads in automobiles, beater wet adhesion and paper
saturation.
